The Top 20 Most Expensive Cars to Insure
Does your car make the list?
By: Jaci Buscher | Date September 29, 2014
The fall is notorious for many things: changing leaves, shorter days, and, most importantly, excellent deals on cars! However, it is important to keep in mind that just because you might be able to get a super-fast, super-powerful car for a bargain, it doesn't mean you can get your insurance for that same bargain. As you can probably guess, insurance rates increase as the value and risk associated with the car increase. Whether it's due to the assumption that the driver lacks the ability to control all the extra horsepower packed under the hood, because they are more likely to speed, or simply because it is so expensive to repair these high-end vehicles, insurance companies are sure to charge more for powerful sports cars.

So, what cars do insurance carriers view as the most risky to insure? Well, a recent study has put together a list of the highest insurance rates for 2014 vehicles. Is your dream car on this list? If so, you may want to think twice before handing over your down payment!

The numbers in the right-hand column give the average yearly premium charged for the specified car. The insurance carriers who participated in this study were Allstate, Farmers, GEICO, Nationwide, Progressive, and State Farm. Brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, and Jaguar appear on the list multiple times, but the number one spot is held by the only Nissan mentioned on the list: the Nissan GT-R Track Edition.

We recognize that most of you probably aren't looking to purchase a Porsche this fall, however, the lesson still holds even if you are looking to buy a new family suburban and that is to call us before purchasing! When deciding whether or not you can afford a new vehicle, you want to be sure to also consider the insurance payments you will have to make on the new vehicle. Feel free to give us a call and we would be happy to run some quotes on the vehicles you are considering!
